Liverpool celebrates ‘Sgt. Pepper’s’ with an immersive listening event

Tate Liverpool and National Museums invite you to the ultimate Beatles experience

Tate Liverpool and National Museums Liverpool invite you to experience Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in a new way: from December 19, 2019, to January 9, 2020, the iconic Beatles album will be presented in an immersive sound experience to be held at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Building, Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool.

Giles Martin, Grammy Award winning producer (also son of the Beatles legendary producer George Martin) has remixed the 1967’s iconic album from the original recordings. «This new Dolby Atmos mix allows us to fall into the record and to tatally immerse ourselves in the fantastical world that was so beautifully created at Abbey Road Studios over 50 years ago» said Martin in a statement.

According to the press release, the Sgt. Pepper’s – The Immersive Experience promises “an astonishing clarity of the mix” that will make you “feel as though the band are performing all around you” i.e. as the Beatles were playing live. Tickets for the event are free, although booking is essential. For full details visit www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk .
