Here’s the ultimate holiday treat for Beatles’ fans

Director Peter Jackson released a sneak peek of his upcoming music documentary, The Beatles: Get Back, that will be out on August 27, 2021.

The 5-minute video is available to fans worldwide on TheBeatles.com and streaming on Disney+ .

The New Zealand-born filmmaker said: «We wanted to give the fans of The Beatles all over the world a holiday treat, so we put together this five-minute sneak peek at our upcoming theatrical film ‘The Beatles: Get Back.’ We hope it will bring a smile to everyone’s faces and some much-needed joy at this difficult time.»

So, just in time for Christmas, Beatles fans can have a look at the upcoming film that focuses on the band’s intmate recording sessions during a crucial moment in music history: shot in January 1969 and completed thanks to over 60 hours of unseen footage (filmed by Micheal Lindsay-Hogg) and more than 150 hours of unheard audio, The Beatles: Get Back follows John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as they prepare their first live show in two years and chronicles the writing and rehearsing of 14 new songs, originally set to be on an accompanying live album. The documentary also features the full-length rooftop concert on London’s Savile Row, which was also the last live performance of The Beatles as a group.

The collaboration between The Beatles and three-time Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, They Shall Not Grow Old) is presented by The Walt Disney Studios in association with Apple Corps Ltd. and WingNut Films Productions Ltd.
