Jonathan M. Goldstein & John Francis Daley are set to direct the film adaptation of the role-playing game

English actor Hugh Grant has been casted in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie by Paramount and eOne. Jonathan M. Goldstein & John Francis Daley, the duo behind the comedy-thriller hit Game Night, will direct the film which is set to be released in May 2022. Grant joins a huge production that features other famous Hollywood names: from Chris Pine (Wonder Woman) and Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious), to young stars like Sophia Lillis (It) and Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton).

Dungeons & Dragons’ film adaptation will keep the spirit of the role-playing game, by incorporating fantasy creatures and humans, treasure hunts and all the aspects that made the original game iconic. Details about the film plot have been kept secret, but we know that Grant will play a character named Forge Fletcher.

The actor has earned nominations at the latest Golden Globes, SAG and Critics Choice Awards for his role in HBO’s drama The Undoing and he’s currently filming Guy Ritchie’s new spy-thriller Five Eyes.
